about us
Over the past 37 years of training in different martial arts and fighting disciplines I have discovered one thing we all have in common! You can have all the knowledge and physical skills but if you don’t have the ability to flip the switch to become the warrior, you will never survive that part of reality. If you would ever have to defend yourself or love ones! These days as an instructor we have to be able to give answers for a lot if problems that may occur from personal protection.

As a martial artist who is almost fifty years old, things have become more important to me now that they did in my twenty’s and teens. I realize that meditation is good and essential for our mental health and training and running our Kata’s our good for our physical being.

I do believe that personal safety is 90% mental and 10% physical because knowing and understanding our surrounding are mental preparation and most physical confrontations last seconds. So by that standard thinking is one of the most important aspect of our survival and physical is what we mentally had to think up, and draw a game plan and be able to effectively put it in motion for our survive.

Mental preparation is the key to stay out of trouble and if we can’t avoid the trouble then you have to be able to apply the physical training that we have prepared ourselves for. We must remember that when we were in the military that we trained for the time to fight and a lot of soldiers do not fight because they want to, they fight because of a cause of somebody else.

Can we ever be prepared to fight? The answer is “yes”, but it can be hard and a task to flip the switch until we are forced to or die trying.

As we prepared ourselves mentally and physically for a future that we don’t know anything about. I can tell you that I look forward to getting older and staying mentally and physically fit as I possibly can because of the next phase of my life. I personally look forward to running kata and youth.

If we believe in our karate as a way of life, we must embrace all of the phase that we will go through to truly master the way of life that it brings us too. We can never prepare for what might come our way mentally our physically, for this reason I believe that we must study.
